As I don’t intend to make a habit of traipsing 151 miles across the Sahara, I am hoping to raise a tremendous amount of money for charity the first time round.

I shall be running for the Dreams Come True Charity, which helps lift the spirits of numerous children with very serious or terminal medical conditions all over the UK, by turning their dreams into reality.

They offer once-in-a-lifetime dreams to children and young adults, between 2 and 21 years old, suffering from conditions such as childhood cancers, leukaemia, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and other long-term debilitating and degenerative diseases.

Dreams Come True Charity believes serious illness should not prevent children from experiencing their dreams. Dreams are shaped by the children’s imagination and have included experiencing the magic of Disney, swimming with dolphins, naming a police horse and seeing bananas grow on a real tree.
